Marie Odille
Berard
SOLTEK INC. handbags have evolved from the
passion for design excellence of the founder, Marie Odile Berard. Marie first
became involved in the fashion world when she moved to the United States from
France, and began working for Charles Jourdan when they opened their first
store in the USA in Manhattan.
Within five years she was the manager and buyer for the Moga boutique
on Madison Avenue in Manhattan. At that time, they were introducing Rodier (la
maille Francaise) for the first time. Marie then assisted M. Robert Beaulieu
(le fou de la fourrure ) to open his first store on Madison Avenue in New York
City, where she served as the Director and Buyer for North America.
As the Account Executive at Arche USA, Marie built the French shoe
business in North America from scratch to 10's of millions of dollars in annual
sales. She left Arche in 2008 and hasnt looked back since!
Marie has worked with the finest collections as well as specialty
boutiques throughout America using her passion to promote luxury fashion
goods for women. After 30 years of working in the industry, Marie decided to
branch out on her own and create a collection of beautiful handbags. She founded Soltek Inc. to do just that..
Marie's handbag designs are proudly made in the USA of the finest
leathers and fabrics. She attributes her success to hard work, a good eye for design, loyalty
to her customers and the uncanny ability to recommend items to her clients that
will sell well in their specific locales.
Marie
continues on her passionate journey to design the best products with great
value. And today, SOLTEK can be found in the best specialty boutiques
throughout the country.
Many clients have asked Marie what the
name Soltek implies. Marie and her husband grew up respecting others and the
environment. They favor manufacturing processes that conform to ISO standards to
minimize pollution; firms that use renewable resources to the extent possible
and we will never use products from exotic or wild animals, endangered or
otherwise. When the world becomes vegetarian... they find a substitute for
leather.
